Orthodontics

Is orthodontic treatment effective for adults too?

Yes, as long as your gums and jawbone are healthy, you can expect good orthodontic results regardless of age. In fact, many people start orthodontic treatment in their 40s and 50s. However, tooth movement is slower in adults than during the growth period, so treatment may take somewhat longer, and if you have gum disease, it must be treated before starting orthodontics. If bone loss around the teeth is severe, the scope of treatment may be limited, so it is best to have a detailed examination to check your gum condition first.
