Orthodontics
How long does orthodontic treatment usually take?
Full orthodontic treatment usually takes 1.5 to 2 years, and partial orthodontic treatment focused on the front teeth takes about 6 months to 1 year. The duration varies greatly from person to person: 1) it takes longer if a large amount of tooth movement is needed or extractions are involved, 2) adults tend to take somewhat longer than growing adolescents, and 3) faithfully following your appliance wear time and appointment schedule helps keep treatment on track. We will give you an accurate estimate after a detailed diagnosis, and a separate retainer-wearing period is needed after treatment is complete.
