Denture

What exactly are dentures?

A denture is a removable prosthesis you can put in and take out yourself to replace missing teeth. If no teeth remain, a complete denture covers the entire gum ridge; if some teeth are still present, a partial denture is used with clasps that hook onto the remaining teeth. Unlike implants, dentures can be made without surgery, and patients aged 65 and older are eligible for national health insurance coverage. However, because the chewing force is transmitted through the gums, the biting power is lower than with natural teeth. If strong chewing function matters to you, it is worth also discussing alternatives such as implant-supported dentures.
