I needed an implant but had no time, so I only had the extraction without placement. Will this be a problem?

Leaving an extraction site untreated for a long time can make implant treatment more difficult later. The alveolar bone at the extraction site resorbs over time — especially noticeably within the first year — and additional bone grafting may eventually be needed. Adjacent teeth can also tilt into the empty space, and opposing teeth can over-erupt, throwing off your bite. In many cases, implants are placed either immediately after extraction or around 2 to 3 months later once the gums have healed, so we recommend coming in for a checkup before it's too late.
