There's a hole in my implant. Do I need to redo it?

In most cases, this is just the filling material covering the screw access hole of your implant crown that has partially fallen out — it isn't a problem with the implant itself, so you don't need to worry too much. 1) If the surface is only slightly rough, you can leave it as is. 2) If it's deep enough that food gets stuck, we can simply refill the hole. 3) In rare cases where the crown itself has cracked, a new crown may need to be made. However, if the gums around the hole become swollen or painful, it may be something different, so we recommend coming in for an evaluation.
