Implant

Can I get implant surgery if I have diabetes or hypertension?

Implant surgery is possible if your diabetes or hypertension is stably controlled. For diabetes, surgery is safest when HbA1c is 7.0% or below. However, please consult the medical team before surgery if: 1) your blood sugar is poorly controlled (higher risk of infection and failure), 2) you take blood thinners such as aspirin (dosing may need adjustment due to bleeding risk), or 3) you are receiving osteoporosis injections (bisphosphonates). Tell us all medications you take during consultation - we coordinate with your physician to proceed safely.
