What is navigation (guided) implant surgery?

Navigation (computer-guided) implant surgery uses a 3D CT scan to analyze the position of your jawbone and nerves, then runs a simulated surgery on the computer first, and finally places the implants using a surgical guide manufactured to match that plan. By minimizing incisions, it can help reduce pain and swelling and lower the risk of nerve damage. However, it isn't suitable for every case. For patients who 1) have difficulty opening their mouth wide or 2) have bone conditions that make it hard to seat the guide, conventional placement may be more appropriate, so we'll choose the method that fits you best after diagnosis.
