Implant

Can I drink alcohol after getting implants?

After implant surgery, we recommend avoiding alcohol for at least 2 weeks, ideally 4. Alcohol dilates blood vessels, which can worsen bleeding and swelling, and it can also trigger inflammation that interferes with osseointegration. The first 2 to 3 days after surgery especially carry a high risk of bleeding, so alcohol must be avoided then. However, please visit us immediately if bleeding doesn't stop at the surgical site after drinking, or if pain or swelling suddenly worsens.
