Esthetic/Whitening
I naturally have yellower teeth than others. Will whitening still work?
Yes, teeth that are naturally yellowish can usually be expected to respond to whitening as well. Yellow and brown discolorations tend to respond relatively well to whitening. However, 1) grayish or banded discoloration caused by medications such as tetracycline — the effect is limited, so multiple sessions or alternatives such as laminates may be considered, and 2) teeth that have darkened because the nerve is dead — these require internal (non-vital) bleaching rather than standard whitening. Because the approach depends on the cause of the discoloration, we will recommend the most suitable treatment after an examination.
