Denture

Can I have dentures made if I have diabetes or hypertension?

Yes, it is possible. Denture fabrication is based on impressions and fitting, not oral surgery, so it can be done safely even with systemic conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure. However, 1) if any remaining teeth need to be extracted before the denture is made, we will need to check your blood pressure and blood sugar control as well as the medications you take (especially antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs), and 2) if you have diabetes, gum healing tends to be slower, so the adjustment period may be a bit longer. Please let us know what medications you are taking in advance so we can plan treatment safely.
