Orthodontics
Does orthodontic treatment hurt a lot?
For about 2-3 days after an appliance adjustment, your teeth may feel achy and it may be hard to chew hard foods. This is a natural response to tooth movement, and it usually subsides within a week. When you have pain, it helps to 1) take a pain reliever, 2) eat soft foods like porridge or yogurt, and 3) apply orthodontic wax to spots where the appliance rubs. However, if the pain worsens after a week or one particular tooth keeps throbbing, there may be another problem, so please visit us.
