Orthodontics

I want orthodontic treatment but I have crowded teeth. Do I need extraction?

Whether extraction is needed for treating crowded, overlapping teeth depends on how much space is lacking. 1) If the crowding is severe and there is a large space shortage, extraction orthodontics is more likely; 2) if the shortage is not large, non-extraction treatment can be attempted through arch expansion or slight polishing of the sides of the teeth. Even when extraction is needed, we usually choose the premolars (small molars), which have less impact on chewing function. An accurate decision is only possible after X-rays and dental model analysis, so please have a detailed diagnosis first.
