Are veneers durable? What if they break easily?

Laminate veneers are made of ceramic and are strong enough for everyday eating without any problem. However, because they are thin — about 0.3-0.7mm — they can break under strong impact or twisting forces. Please avoid habits like tearing ribs off the bone with your front teeth, opening bottle caps, or biting your nails, and if you grind your teeth, we recommend wearing a night guard. If a veneer chips or cracks, leaving it untreated can damage the tooth underneath, so please visit us right away.
