Food keeps getting stuck between my crown and gums.
Food getting trapped between the crown and the gums is often caused by gum recession that has opened up a gap, or by a loose contact point with the adjacent tooth. If food continues to get stuck, decay and gum inflammation can easily develop in that spot, so it should not be ignored. 1) For mild symptoms — manage with floss and interdental brushes and monitor. 2) If the gap has widened — consider remaking the crown. 3) If the gums are swollen and bleeding — combine with gum treatment. If the discomfort is significant or accompanied by bad breath, please visit us so we can identify the exact cause.
