Doesn't the palate feel stuffy when wearing dentures?

At first it is normal to feel a stuffy, bulky sensation because the denture covers the roof of your mouth. In most cases, after about 2-4 weeks your senses adjust and you can wear it without discomfort. If the feeling lingers, the palate portion can be made as a thin metal plate to reduce its thickness. However, if the stuffy feeling is accompanied by ongoing gagging, or if the back edge of the denture feels like it is irritating your throat, an adjustment is needed, so please come in.
