How long after a tooth extraction can I get dentures?

It is generally best to wait about 1-2 months after extraction for the gums to heal before starting denture fabrication. If it would be too difficult to go without teeth during that time, an immediate (temporary) denture can be made in advance and worn right after extraction. Because the gum shape changes as it heals, the temporary denture will loosen, and the final denture is then made once the gums have stabilized. However, if many teeth were extracted or bone grafting was performed at the same time, a longer recovery period may be needed.
