On the day a crown or other restoration is cemented, the adhesive needs time to set fully, so avoid sticky foods such as caramel and taffy, and hard foods, for about 24 hours. Slight sensitivity or an unfamiliar feeling when chewing usually improves over an adjustment period of 1 to 2 weeks. However, if one spot keeps hitting first or the restoration continues to feel high, the bite needs adjusting, so please come in.
