Precautions

Please tell me the precautions after implant surgery.

After implant surgery, please follow these steps: 1) bite firmly on the gauze for about 2 hours, and swallow saliva or blood rather than spitting it out, 2) avoid straws, alcohol, and smoking for at least 1 to 2 weeks, as they interfere with healing, 3) use cold compresses for the first 2 to 3 days, and 4) take all prescribed medication to the end. Pain and swelling are usually worst on day 2 or 3 and then subside. However, if they last more than a week or get worse, infection is possible and you should come in.
