Are there side effects after veneers?
After laminate veneers, temporary sensitivity, fracture (chipping), or debonding can occur. Sensitivity for a few days right after the teeth are prepared usually subsides on its own. To reduce the risk of side effects, we recommend 1) avoiding biting into ice or hard foods, 2) not tearing tough foods with your front teeth, and 3) wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth. However, if sensitivity lasts more than 2 weeks or a veneer feels loose, the bonding needs to be checked, so please visit the clinic.
