Scaling
How often should I get scaling?
Once a year is the standard, and from age 19 the National Health Insurance covers one scaling per year, so you can have it with little cost (the count resets every January 1). We do recommend every 3 to 6 months if you 1) smoke, 2) have a history of gum treatment, or 3) build up tartar quickly. However, if your gums often swell or bleed, do not wait for the next interval - come in for an examination.
