Are there conditions for implants to be covered by insurance?
Yes. If you are 65 or older and are partially edentulous with at least one tooth remaining, the National Health Insurance covers up to 2 implants per lifetime (National Health Insurance standard). With coverage your co-payment is 30%, which greatly reduces the cost compared with a non-covered implant. However, 1) if you have no teeth at all, you qualify for denture coverage rather than implant coverage, and 2) some items such as bone grafting may involve separate costs. We will tell you exactly whether you qualify and what to expect after an examination.
