Yes, teeth change with age. 1) The outer enamel wears thinner, so the yellow dentin underneath shows through and teeth look more yellow, 2) the edges of the front teeth become translucent and chip more easily, and 3) the nerve space inside the tooth narrows, so pain may be felt less sharply. That is why in later years a cavity can be noticed late and the right moment for treatment missed. From middle age onward we recommend a check-up every 6 months even when you have no symptoms.
