I recently had chemotherapy. Can I get dental treatment?

Dental treatment is possible after chemotherapy, but the timing has to be chosen carefully. During chemotherapy, lowered immunity raises the risk of infection and bleeding may be hard to control, so treatment is generally done after your blood counts (white cells and platelets) have recovered. Our approach is to 1) check your oncologist's opinion, 2) review your blood test results, and 3) manage urgent pain conservatively first. Please tell us when your last chemotherapy session was and which agents were used, especially whether you received an injection for bone metastasis.
