I'm taking medication. Can I still receive treatment?
Yes, most medications do not prevent dental treatment, but you must tell us in advance which ones you take. 1) Anticoagulants and aspirin may need to be adjusted before treatment that involves bleeding, such as an extraction, 2) osteoporosis medications and injections affect jawbone healing after an extraction, and 3) diabetes medication relates to infection and wound healing. When necessary we coordinate with your physician to choose a safe time for treatment. If you cannot remember the names, just bring your prescription or the medication packaging.
