Is the radiation from dental X-rays safe?

Yes, the radiation dose from dental X-rays is very low. A periapical image of one or two teeth is about 0.005 mSv and a panoramic image about 0.01 to 0.02 mSv, similar to or less than the radiation you receive naturally in a single day. With a lead apron, X-rays can be taken even during pregnancy. However, if you are pregnant or think you might be, please tell us in advance. We image only the area that is needed, and no more.
